The difference of OEM&ODM

OEM: The owner of the shape mold is the factory, the customer choose the shape from the catalogue, and our factory produce the bottles or tumblers just coloring and packaged according to the requirements of the order. The focus is other customers also can order the shape. In another word, you can find the same cups in the market easily,all of them may have different color and logo only.

ODM: The owner of the shape mold is the customer, we open the mold just according the design that confirmed by customer ,and the factory need to keep secrets and will not display any information relative to anyone others.and the product is only available to this specific customer. The customer can keep the uniqueness in the market for short time, why is short time? For the shape is open in the market and can’t avoid copied by other people. For this case, you can apply for a patent to protect your rights.

How to own a ODM mold?

Firstly, design stainless steel water bottle or tumbler shape, even just a approximately shape, if you want to speed up the mold process, you’d better to offer us the 3D format files that can be opened by UG, such as .stp files. Our engineer can modify the data of design to the mold format quickly. If it is the floor plan, we need to take several days to draw the 3D file.

Secondly, we need to communication around the design, the design change into actual operational drawing, need to consider about the production process and actual production cost. That is we will told you which point can not be produce need to change into what we suggested,and we will ask you which process of the inner liner you prefer to(water swelling liner and stretching liner). for the liner need to combine the product positioning and the produce cost.The stretching liner has more expensive mold fee and production cost,and compare to the swelling liner it has smoothly inner surface while the water swelling liner with a unremovable welding line.

Tips: stretching liner material is a stainless steel disc, and the swelling liner material is a stainless steel pipe

Finally,all the details are confirmed, wait for about 30 days after the mold fee paid, the SS sample will come out, you will see the color sample effect about 15 days after the SS sample. If the sample is checked,then the mass production orders can be arranged.

Either the OEM or ODM need to confirmation the samples, all the mass production orders will be arranged once the samples is confirmed and the advance payment received.
